LIBRARY

LAUSD provides a librarian to Castlebay Lane part time. PATH funds make up the difference so that our librarian is full time.

Students visit the library every other week and learn how to use the library from our librarian, Laura Wolf.

The library is open in the morning at 8am, so you can stop in before school starts. The library stays open until 3:30pm each day, except Tuesday. Parents are welcome to check out books for their children.

Adopt a Book

Castlebay has an excellent library stocked with over 17,000 books. Families are invited to adopt a book. Each month a list of books we would like to add to the library comes home with your child. You may choose a book and send in your completed form with a check. Your child's name will be attached to the inside of the book and you will receive a certificate of adoption.

Library Boosters

If you donate $50, a plaque will be placed on a library bookshelf with your name. If you donate $150, a plaque will be placed on a library bookcase in your honor.



Children learn to keep the library straight by using a browsing stick to mark their place in the stacks when they look at a book. Students may browse or check out books for projects, reports and recreational reading.
